Developing a Healthier City - A Healthier World

If you have not heard yet, it’s been reported by ABC News that:

“New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and ABC News have invited Sens. Barack Obama and John McCain to participate in a 90-minute, primetime town hall meeting to be broadcast live from Federal Hall in New York City”

To the credit of both candidates, they are insisting that any broadcast of this event be made as wide as possible.  That could well mean that ABC will not get an exclusive.  But still an event of this nature has not been done before.

And where else but in the greatest city in this nation?

Stay tuned as we bring you updates as to time and venue.  This is going to be big.

OK I’m not implying that the Sex in the City movie is anywhere near the classic film Breakfast at Tiffany’s.  Far from it actually.  But it’s a fun romp that will satisfy the hunger of starved ‘Carrie’ fans who have been left wanting after the HBO series was canceled.

Can’t give away any of the details but the gals are at their naughty best and while not all is upside fun, the movie gives the fan what she (or he wants)

And as for Tiffany’s, I’ll settle for this Tiffany styled key chain any day of the week.  With it’s sterling silver plate exterior and it’s engraved medallion any NYC gal would be thrilled.

Foot Power

It’s amazing what a little foot power can do. For one it reduces my carbon foot print on this city and this world. During rush hour, it’s almost as fast as grabbing a cab provided you don’t need to go more than a mile or so.

And finally it’s been doing good for my weight. I can’t help but think everytime I hear another report about our growing obesity problem that a bit more walking would go a long way to slimming us all down.

When I walk this great city, I feel more in touch with it. I ’see’ it better for what it is - the good and the bad. So the next time you have a short or moderate trip to make, make it on foot.
