Peas in the Garden

Do-It-Yourself gardening has become a blast for me since I began exploring my raised beds that I built last year. The tomatoes and the Mole peppers were my favorite from last year’s garden. I enjoyed my daily harvest of fresh vegetables so much that I plan to expand the garden this year with an addition of a Jardiniere Trellis to grow peas on. Read the rest of this entry »

Last year I was looking for postcap finials and was told they don’t exist. Well I shopped around until I found exactly what I was looking for: a postcap with a finial on top in one piece. I also found out it’s simply called a post cap but they do make them with balls and other objects that sit on top of the cap part. About five years ago I decided to add a little pizzazz to my bookshelf with architectural elements and purchased one finial.  This started me on an adventure that continues today.  There are so many wonderful types and kinds of finials that are used in so many applications that we see but don’t really see.  Just take a look at flag poles, the tops and bottoms of staircases and of course, fences.  Also look at entrances into areas, gates and door stops.  I currently use finials all over my house and office for such things as paperweights, ring and bracelet holders and bookends. Soy candle making is a very fun activity for anyone to do not just when you are bored, but also if you want to earn money and start a small business.

Contrary to what many people think making soy candles is not a hard thing to do, in fact it is as simple as 1-2-3. For many people who love candles, many also love the idea of making their own. They love the feeling of satisfaction that comes with making something that can be enjoyed by themselves or others. Soy candle making is also a great party activity for adults or children.
